Kingscliff Accommodation - branding

Background

We were approached by Kingscliff Accommodation, a boutique guest accommodation and property management provider on the Tweed Coast. Initially we were briefed with the objective to increase the number of properties in their portfolio, however, the partnership evolved into an ongoing retainer.

The work

We started the process of planning campaigns when we realised the branding, which had been created by another agency, wasn't quite right. It's application in socials wasn't working, and so before we got started on any promotional activities, we needed to correct the branding. We still had to keep the primary elements of their previous logo design, however we shifted the brand mark to a square bounded box rather than a pill-shape which was hard to use in social. From there, we rolled out the new branding across all marketing collateral, including business cards, a letterhead, comp slips and business folders. We also pulled together a Business Development Manager's pack which included a services flyer and agency agreement.

While this was all happening, we were simultaneously working on signage, website updates and campaign strategy - more to come on these elements later.

    Corromount – Rebrand and Website

    Corromount - Rebrand and Website

    Corromount - logo

    Background

Corromount came to Barefruit with the aim of refreshing their website and logo. Corromount is a new essential product for tradesman and architects looking to creating the perfect finish when mounting electrical or plumbing appliances or fittings to corrugated interior/exterior walls.

    The work

The new logo was a refreshed version of the old, utilising the initial concept that was created for the identity but refreshing it with a stronger typeface, colours. The logo features two wavey lines in the centre, which represents the joining of the product to the corrugated surface. We also took the opportunity in created a strong strap line for the brand that they can own and use throughout their marketing collateral, “When finish counts, count on Corromount”.

Barefruit also designed and developed the new Corromount website, which needed to speak primarily to their B2B audience. The product pages and primary goal for the users is to enquire about the Corromount products and enquire for those looking to purchase. The website was designed to be responsive and implement content that the client had already created, with the aim of updating it, the website is future proofed for ongoing updates and changes.

Unique brand features of the website include a parallax loading effect whilst scrolling the page contents, we also adding a nice wave line animation that highlights key words/actions on the website, which ties in with the logo design. Combining this with the new brand logo, colours and copy we have created the perfect finish for Corromount.

      Vivid Powder Coating – Ballina

Vivid Powder Coating - Branding and Website

      Vivid Powder Coating - logo

      Background

Vivid Powder Coating is a new business and service in the heart of Ballina, NSW. Barefruit was approached to come up with the brand name, branding, marketing collateral and website to launch this new service.

      The work

This was a very fun project that started by researching naming options that work and tie in with their business, "Vivid" was the preferred naming option, the word suggests the perfect finish, clear, bright, vibrant the sort of finish you would expect to see if your respraying your Harley Davidson!

With the business name decided we proceed on creating the identity for the brand, starting with mood boards to develop our initial concepts, the client loved the exploded powder of colour idea we presented and so this was to become the main feature of the branding on the Gold Coast and Ballina. We saw the direction for the branding working with a matt black to allow the colours to really pop, this allowed us to quickly concept how the brand elements were going to be applied. Choosing a typeface was a bit of a process, pairing a font that works with the personality of the word "Vivid" and the exploding colours, whilst staying professional looking meant the best route was a Sans Serif font. The final result was creative identity that tied in with what the business does. We also developed a strapline that really tied in with the logo and business service - "A brilliant coat of colour every time" and this has been applied consistently to their marketing.

The website was a fun process, prototyping the structure and thinking about the website goals. Styling, adding the video of the exploding powder on a black background became the website theme and we used the "hot pink" as the primary call to action and feature colour. We added in some subtle transitions to finish it off, including another brand feature which was the "Swoosh" animation added under the titles and strapline, this became a feature brand element that we used throughout the brand application to emphasis specific words and services.

        Brief

Richmond Valley Council first approached Barefruit to design a booklet that would help educate households in a fun, useful way with information about waste avoidance and how to dispose of household waste correctly.

        The work

This was a fun and educating project for our team and the project had plenty of elements that required illustrations and intricate design work. To make this booklet fun, playful and inviting, the design relied on illustrations to help explain waste avoidance practises and processes.

Our graphic designers on the Gold Coast create custom illustrations and graphics combined with a simple colour coordinated layout so readers could easily find specific information quickly. The booklet also included a tear-out calendar that had information on specific bin collection days as well as bin stickers to help households organise their waste easier.

Richmond Valley Council also entrusted Barefruit with the organisation of printing 8000 booklets on an environmentally friendly 100% recycled stock that would help reflect their environmental values.

North Coast No Space for Weeds

          Background

No Space For Weeeeeds is part of the North Coast Local Land Services, they aim to increase awareness of weeds within the community, encourage people to understand weeds and know how to report and control them correctly.

          The work

North Coast No Space for Weeds (part of North Coast Local Land Services) approached us to design some print collateral to run alongside their "No Space For Weeeeeds campaign. The aim was to help promote awareness of weed identification and prevention in the local community. They were attending the annual PRIMEX event (Australia’s sustainable farm and primary industries exhibition) and was in need of a six-page A5 fact sheet flyer to hand out to event attendees with information on how to prevent spreading weeds from one location to another.

As part of their weeds awareness campaign, they requested our graphic design services to revamp their existing annual weed awareness calendar to not only reflect their branding but to also have a clean, modern look and feel. This calendar was to be distributed to local farmers within the North Coast to help with the identification process of a particular weed and provide solutions on how to treat and prevent the weed from spreading.

Wildling Ginger Beer – Seven Mile Brewing Co

Seven Mile Brewing Co - Wildling Ginger Beer

Brand Strategy, Product Branding & Packaging

Wildling Seven Mile Brewing Co Can

            The work

Barefruit were ecstatic to be awarded the brief to develop the branding (from naming straight through to production) for Seven Mile Brewing Co.’s most recent creation – a fresh and zingy Ginger Beer. The project kicked off early January 2021 and went through the full creative process to arrive at a playful, artistic, and very distinctive result – Wildling Hard Ginger Beer.

Seven Mile Brewing Co., wanted a brand that appealed primarily to women, but also men who seek out beer alternatives, and those who love a cocktail (Pro tip: Wildling goes amazingly well with spiced rum and fresh lime, over ice). To capture these key market segments, the brand personality needed to be unique, fun, cheeky and visually catching. At the same time,  communicating its USP’s: use of local ingredients, the tangy ginger kick and a subtly, sweet finish

The Barefruit project management team had an excellent opportunity to ‘flex their creative muscles’ for this project with quite a bit of freedom to explore naming and design options. The process took the team on a 7-month journey to conceptualise, design and refine each and every detail of the artwork for the cans and cartons.

            Creative Lead Alex Wales says

“We started with concepts and moodboards to present the client with lots of options and completed a full competitive analysis to ensure that the result was going to be distinctive, unique and match the product itself. Once we finalised the artwork, we worked on the details to the cans and cartons until everything was approved and signed off; ready for production.”

              East Coast Building Consultants

              Integrated Digital Marketing Campaign

Byron Bay FM East Coast Building Consultants Website

              The work

Initially, Barefruit were engaged by East Coast Building Consultants, a building inspection services company in Byron, to build a website. There is no point in having a website that no one knows about, and so this job evolved into a strategy and implementation of an integrated digital marketing campaign to make sure this website came to life.

The digital campaign was rolled out across the website, Facebook and Instagram, email marketing, and Google My Business. A series of Facebook ads (which are also served on Instagram) were developed with specific audiences in mind. The ads were Facebook Instant Experience ads which give users the opportunity to discover more about the services on offer while remaining on the platform. The ads directed people to customised landing pages for each service provided by East Coast Building Consultants. To support the increase in keyword search, we developed blog posts for each service. Our campaign was reinforced by email marketing and Google My Business posts. Like all integrated campaigns, we rolled the creative out across traditional media, including a DL flyer and a Press Ad. In addition to the ongoing digital campaigns we run for East Coast Building Consultants, this client is part of our SEO program.

Search Engine Optimisation and digital marketing/ advertising work symbiotically, supporting and improving results for each other. This campaign and the SEO program working together resulted in a 73% increase of traffic to the website and a 50% increase in conversions made on the site (click to call, click to email, complete contact form). Inquiries made through Google My Business were up by 20%, and website clicks were boosted by 40%.

Spend your End of Financial Year budget wisely…

We know the end of financial year is fast approaching. If you have some cash available in the budget, now’s the time to spend it. Most accountants will be asking you to look for ways to buy assets that minimise your tax for this year’s return. But spend it wisely… do you really need that snazzy new coffee machine for the office? Make sure your hard-earned cash is put into something that will bring you more, like investing in long-term marketing strategies that will pay off over the next financial year.

Here’s our take on spending your remaining FY21 budget to bring wins to your business.

                  Save $$ on media spend

The EOFY sales extend beyond retail. You can secure some great rates by purchasing media spots at this time of year, especially if you buy in bulk. If you’re thinking of running print ads in a local publication, why not purchase spots now for the next 6 to 12 months and secure yourself a deal. Same goes for radio, digital and TV.

                  Save money on media
                  new website
                  Invest in a new website

If you’re not already online, you need to seriously consider this to get ahead in the coming years. People are buying, connecting and sharing online more than ever before. Set your business up in a way that takes advantage of online behaviour. This could be a great time to refresh your company website, set up an online store or build a new site from the ground up. Your website is an asset that will serve your business into the future.

                  Pimp yo’ ride

If you’ve got a company vehicle, use it to its full potential…this is valuable, moving, real estate. Car stickers and wraps are an excellent tool to increase your brand awareness while you’re on the move. If you’re a tradie, builder, personal trainer, cleaner, allied health worker, home care provider (the list can go on), pimp up your company car –  sign writers might have some good offers at this time of year.

                  Think of future promotions

Get organised for the year ahead and order promotional merchandise in advance. We’ve all experienced the rush to get flyers or a batch of business cards printed before a deadline. No one needs that stress. Consider what you’ll need in the lead up to Christmas: cards, product brochures, postcards, stickers etc. When it comes to events, what collateral will you need to grab the attention of consumers from the get-go; new signage, flyers, branded samples etc.

                  Polish up your marketing collateral

The beginning of the new financial year is a popular time for businesses to bring changes into effect. All marketing collateral will need to reflect any changes. Polish up your email signature, business cards, Web Design Byron Bay, campaign material and social media content so that they work together to deliver the same message.

                  Integrated messaging
As tax-time draws near, consider your marketing needs for the new financial year and what you could get organised now, rather than later. Giving a little love to your marketing will help business bare fruit.

                  What clients are saying

It was great working with Jennica and Claire from Barefruit Marketing. They really took time to understand my project and delivered amazing ‘pitch’ / media release to appeal to journalists and media corporations. I felt comfortable sharing my ideas, and they were able to capture my vision and marry it to their expertise. Would highly recommend.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Claire and Charlotte from Barefruit Marketing who have helped me in the last couple of months to pull this amazing media event together. The agency has offered their services on a pro bono basis, I am so grateful for the work they have done. I have been using Barefruit for my SEO and website development for Behind the Barrel. The best part about Barefruit is your're not just getting the attention of one of their staff members. The whole team works together to help bring the best possible outcome for your business marketing. I highly recommend Evan and his team if you want to take your business marketing to the next level.

I'm extremely happy with it (been bragging a bit about it just quietly) and couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you for bringing this to life.
